Our Luxlink® Ethernet2DALI (E2D) system combines lighting control and specialist addressable emergency testing into a single comprehensive system, eliminating the need for two separately installed networks. Ethernet switches, E2D connectivity modules or interfaces and plug‘n’play wiring for both luminaires and controls makes installation fast, easy and cost effective.

Lighting Control

In addition to presence detection in transition spaces and toilets, absence detection and daylight linking control can be easily programmed, regardless of the electrical circuit present and the DALI network to which each luminaire or control device is connected.

Multi-sensors – offering both PIR movement detection, active infra-red control and constant light control for lighting – can also be used to signal the BMS for other systems, such as fire, HVAC and intruder alarms. When the room becomes unoccupied, these systems can be set back to save energy and the lighting switched off automatically if left on by previous occupants.

Master lighting control groups enable the fire alarm system to interface with the lighting control system for ‘all lights on’ when the fire alarm is activated. During the period of activation, the system can be programmed to stop local PIRs switching the lighting off again until the fire alarm has been deactivated. This type of system interaction can be via a simple input to the lighting control system or via integration.

The system also encompasses a comprehensive reporting facility for maintaining system faults such as failed lamps, luminaires or controls.

Addressable Emergency Testing

Automatic function tests are conducted monthly with a full duration test annually. Automatic lamp, battery and charger fault indication removes the associated time, labour and guesswork associated with maintaining the emergency lighting system. Emergency test reports can also be downloaded locally or remotely when managing a wider building portfolio. For maintenance, failed devices can be pin-pointed via the emergency test report, investigated and rectified for individual luminaire retest.

BACnet Integration

E2D’s BACnet integration with the BMS allows seamless interaction between building sub-systems. As a result, sensors controlling the lighting are local to the network luminaires that they control, which is inherently safer compared with sensor systems that communicate with lighting over IT networks. Points sent to BACnet can include room data for HVAC and intruder alarms, luminaire status (including luminaire output, lamp and ballast status), emergency luminaire status and emergency test pass/fail data.

BREAAM

Specification of the E2D system for a building-wide lighting control system can contribute strongly to the eligibility for a wide range of BREEAM points, including those awarded under:

  • MAN11 – Ease of maintenance
  • HEA6 – Lighting zones and controls
  • HEA5 – Internal and external lighting levels
  • HEA4 – High frequency lighting
  • ENE1 – Reduction of CO2 emissions
  • ENE2 – Sub-metering of substantial energy uses

The E2D System is able to directly address, or play a significant part, in meeting the criteria outlined by BREEAM as a minimum requirement for a ‘Very Good’, ‘Excellent’ or ‘Outstanding’ award.

The Luxlink® Ethernet2dali Connectivity Module provides plug’n play through power for four or six lighting circuits, i.e. two or three for each DALI network plus additional through-power circuits for HVAC (four Lighting circuit version only). This product is networked with other products via a built-in ethernet switch. Hard Wired Connectivity Module

A Luxlink® hard wired Ethernet2dali Connectivity Module provides hard wired, terminals for two DALI networks. This product is networked with other products via a built-in ethernet switch.

This product is ideal for suspended or chilled beam luminaire applications or landlords core areas where more than three circuits per DALI network are required. This product avoids the use of LCMs, their hard wired equivalents and takes up less space in the service bulkhead than multiple LCMs.

This Luxlink® DALI Scene Panel provides four scenes, Raise, Lower and Off and incorporates an IR receiver for use with the Luxlink® DALI hand held controller. The Scene Plate can be supplied with a cable and plug for direct connection to a DALI network using Luxonic’s DALI Wiring system or supplied separate as required. This device is powered from the DALI network.

Scene panels can be provided with different button configurations and finishes to suit the architects desired operation and aesthetic needs.

The Luxlink® Colour Touch Screen is an addressable DALI device requiring a double gang back box and is programmable. Custom graphics screens enable client specific scene control plates to be designed with simple navigation buttons for getting around the different areas to be controlled. The Luxlink® DALI Mini Input Unit interfaces up to four, 3rd party momentary action (1-way retractive) or standard rocker type switches for the control of Ethernet2dali connected luminaires. A Mini Input Unit is powered from the DALI network and is mounted in the switch back-box

The Luxlink® Ethernet2dali Interface provides two seamlessly connected DALI networks and is inherent to all Ethernet2dali Connectivity Modules. This product can be supplied loose or built into standard or custom lighting control panels and requires an ethernet switch for connection to other Ethernet2dali interfaces in larger networked systems.

This 4-channel Relay Module provides four addressable volt-free contacts rated at 10 Amp resistive or 5 Amp inductive and is used to control or signal non-DALI loads such as HF ballasts, fan coil units or contactors. This unit requires mains power and is connected to the DALI network bus to receive command signals. Each relay is connected to the appropriate supply and load to be controlled.

8-Output Relay Module

The 8-channel Relay Module provides eight addressable relays rated at 10 Amp inductive each and is used to control non DALI loads without the need for contactors. The relays are split into four pairs to control circuits of the same electrical phase on each pair. This unit requires mains power and is connected to the DALI network bus to receive command signals. Each relay is connected to the appropriate supply and load to be controlled.

This RS232 Interface enables 3rd party AV equipment such as Crestron and AMX to control Ethernet2dali connected luminaires in areas such as boardrooms, meeting rooms and conference rooms.
